This product is an Oshima Tsumugi by Togo Orimono, a rare type of Oshima Tsumugi that is rarely seen.
Togo Orimono is a weaving factory in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture. The workshop was established in Miyakonojo by Togo Haruaki, the third generation of Ieion Nagae, who perfected the tightening machine technique, and Nagae Akio, the inventor of Satsuma kasuri. Today, it is the only manufacturer of Satsuma kasuri.
Usually, the kasuri (ikat) process is roughly divided into four departments: design, dyeing, ikat binding, and weaving. However, Togo Orimono is committed to carrying out all of these processes in-house, and as a rule avoids accepting orders, placing importance on original designs.
This Oshima Tsumugi features a geometric pattern woven on a beige-pink background, making it a chic yet cute piece.
Although it is an all-over pattern, the colors are subdued, so it can be matched with any obi, whether light or dark.
You can enjoy a wide range of obi including half-width obi, Nagoya obi, and fukuro obi.
There is a small button stain on the back of the collar, but it is still in good condition for reuse.
The overall color is closest to what you see in the photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
