Obi
A formal and gorgeous obi
The name fukuro obi comes from the fact that it is made by sewing together two pieces of fabric, an outer layer and an inner layer, into a bag shape .
It is known as an obi suitable for formal attire and is used with Tomesode, Homongi, Furisode, etc.
Depending on the pattern, there are three types:
-
Full-length pattern (pattern on the entire obi)
-
Rokutsu-gara (the part that wraps around the body has no pattern)
-
Three-way pattern (pattern only on the front of the drum and torso)
Depending on the pattern, weaving, and material, it can go well with semi-formal and casual kimonos , making it suitable for a wide range of occasions.
