This Oshima Tsumugi kimono is recommended for everyday wear or wearing around town.
This Oshima fabric is woven with warp and weft ikat, and features a floral leaf pattern woven into it.
The gray background of Oshima features subdued red and purple floral patterns, and the leaf pattern has green and blue areas with light blue shadows, giving the kimono a very clean look.
The rich red of the hakama is a nice accent, but if you add a red obi or accessories, the outfit will suddenly look old-fashioned, so be careful.
For example, how about a light gray Hakata obi? If you wear a half-width obi, you won't need an obijime or obiage, so you won't have to worry about the color of your accessories.
Alternatively, it would be stylish to use a sanbu-himo cord in the same color as the obi and add a single obidome as an accent.
If you want to create a light and airy look by using a pale-colored obi such as white, cream, or beige, we recommend matching it with accessories in clean colors.
Even if you choose a dark colored obi such as black, navy blue, or purple, it is a good idea to choose one with a geometric pattern or a simple accent, and to match the obi-jime and obi-age with colors that are not too bright.
