Yukata Features and Condition | New Kimono
This Arimatsu Shibori yukata is perfect for festivals and summer tourist spots.
Arimatsu Narumi Shibori has been produced in the Arimatsu and Narumi regions of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture since the Edo period.
Shibori dyeing allows for a wide variety of patterns to be expressed through different tying, stitching, and pleating methods.
It is said that there are over 100 types of "kukur" (tying methods), and about 70 types are still passed down as techniques today.
This diverse pattern expression is one of the charms of Arimatsu Shibori.
The color of this yukata is close to terracotta, if we were to compare it to clothing. It's a slightly dull, reddish-brown color.
The large floral pattern, dyed with yellow, blue-green, and purple, makes this a striking piece.
Choosing an obi in brown or camel tones will enhance femininity. Pairing it with blue or green tones will give a refreshing impression, and white or off-white obis naturally go well with it. Bringing in a black obi might create too strong a contrast and make it difficult to coordinate.
Another charm of shibori yukata is that it can be worn as a daytime kimono by pairing it with a nagajuban and tabi socks.
During the hot summer months, please wear it with items that help you stay cool, such as a usotsuki-juban (mock juban) or lace tabi.
This is a new product, so it is in excellent condition.
