This is Oshima Tsumugi from the Miyakiemon brand that can be worn as everyday wear or around town.
Miyakiemon's life philosophy was "Tsumugi is my life," and he spent over 70 years working with Oshima Tsumugi.
While based on the traditional techniques of authentic Oshima Tsumugi, she sought out new designs and techniques, developing kasuri and dyeing techniques to more faithfully express the designs, and devoted herself to creating works that were ahead of their time.
In 1973, the Miyakoemon brand was launched, and in 1994, his work Hyakuju (100 Years of Age) was exported overseas and became internationally acclaimed as a work of art.
This item features a kasuri pattern on a brown background, making it a stylish piece.
There aren't too many patterns, so you can wear it in a neat and tidy way.
You can enjoy a wide range of obi including half-width obi, Nagoya obi, and fukuro obi.
There are mold-like stains on the right sleeve, upper front, back body, and lining. There are also basting threads attached, so you can enjoy it as a reused item, but please check before purchasing.
