Characteristics and condition of obidome | Used and recycled obidome
This is a Kiyomizu-yaki obidome.
It was created after the appearance of the Kyoto kettle and has been used since the Keicho era up to the present day.
This obidome has a very gentle feel, with a pattern of waves and dolphins on a pink beige (light pink) background (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary).
It also looks great when coordinated with a kimono that has a pattern reminiscent of flowing water or waves such as Seigaiha.
Using an obidome will give you a stylish look.
This is a casual obi fastener, and the width of the metal fitting is a little wide at 1.3 cm, so it will be more stable if you use a 4-quarter cord rather than a 3-quarter cord.
The yobun-himo is the same as the sanbun-himo, and is a special obi-jime for attaching an obi-dome.
It is thinner and finer than a normal obijime, and is also shorter in length.
Also, since there are no tassels on the ends, they do not get in the way when threading the obi-jime.
The combination of quarter-length obi cord and obidome is very convenient as it can be matched not only with kimono but also with yukata.
Enjoy wearing it with komon, tsumugi, or yukata.
It comes in a box, so it's also recommended as a gift.
