Characteristics and condition of obidome | Used and recycled obidome
This is a Kyoto ware obidome.
It was created after the appearance of the Kyoto kettle and has been used since the Keicho era up to the present day.
Ceramics produced in Kyoto, such as Awatayaki, Omuroyaki, Kiyomizuyaki, Kurotaniyaki, and Oshikojiyaki, are called Kyoto ware.
A large, gourd-shaped obidome in pink beige (walnut color) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary).
It has a silver basket weave pattern on top of which are white flowers.
Using an obidome will give you a stylish look.
This is a casual obi fastener, and the width of the metal fitting is a little wide at 1.3 cm, so it will be more stable if you use a 4-quarter cord rather than a 3-quarter cord.
The yobun-himo is the same as the sanbun-himo, and is a special obi-jime for attaching an obi-dome.
It is thinner and finer than a normal obijime, and is also shorter in length.
Also, since there are no tassels on the ends, they do not get in the way when threading the obi-jime.
The combination of quarter-length obi cord and obidome is very convenient as it can be matched not only with kimono but also with yukata.
Enjoy wearing it with komon, tsumugi, or yukata.
It comes in a box, so it's also recommended as a gift.
