It was a supreme treasure with a mysterious glow, used as an ornament for nobles and as a talisman to ward off evil.
In Japan, in the mid-Edo period, artisans who were fascinated by Dutch jade created beautiful beads with great skill and refinement, and these beads became widely known as "tombodama."
This is a beautiful obidome with calming blue-green (named after the color of the tiles used in Chinese temples and palaces) (see The Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) stripes that stand out beautifully against the white background.
The familiar green color can also be seen in clothing.
It's hard to find this color in Japanese clothing, so it's recommended for those looking for a green accent color.
