This is a dragonfly bead obi clip. Dragonfly bead refers to a colorful, patterned glass bead with a hole in it.
It was a supreme treasure with a mysterious glow, used as an ornament for nobles and as a talisman to ward off evil.
In Japan, in the mid-Edo period, artisans who were fascinated by Dutch jade created beautiful beads with great skill and refinement, and these beads became widely known as "tombodama."
The creamy white (milky white) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) with green, rose, and gray stripes and round rose flower-like patterns creates a gentle atmosphere.
It is a little larger than other glass beads and has a strong presence.
This is a casual obi fastener, suitable for threading a sanbun-himo cord through.
Sanbun-himo is a special obi fastener used to attach an obi fastener.
It is thinner and finer than a normal obijime, and is also shorter in length.
Also, since there are no tassels on the ends, they do not get in the way when threading the obi-jime.
The combination of sanbun-himo and obi-dome is very convenient as it can be matched not only with kimono but also with yukata.
