Characteristics and condition of plain-colored kimonos | Used and recycled kimonos

This product is a plain colored garment dyed with korozen dye by "Kobo Yume Hyotan (made by Atarashi Kijuro)" that can be worn for a variety of occasions.

Yellow lacquer dyeing is a mysterious dyeing method in which the color changes when exposed to ultraviolet light. The color changes depending on the temperature of the sunlight, whether it be morning, afternoon, or evening. It is a mysterious dyeing method in which the color appears red when the light temperature drops, and bluish when the light temperature rises.

Dating back to the early Heian period, the reddish-brown robe worn by the emperor, the "Kurozen no Gohou," changes from golden brown to madder red in the sunlight, and the inside of the kimono turns bright red like the sun, so Emperor Saga decreed that it was an absolute taboo color that only the emperor could wear. Since then, it has been used as the first formal attire for successive emperors, and even today, the emperor wears it at the "Enthronement Ceremony" (Sokui-rei-Seiden-no-gi).

The base color is green (Rikyu brown) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary), with a cherry blossom pattern on the base. The left sleeve and the eight-fold lining are dyed with fireflies.

*Please note that although the color appears brown in the photo, this is due to the light changes caused by the yellow dyeing process.

Depending on the obi, it can be worn for a wide range of occasions, such as formal, casual, and tea party.

When wearing this for a formal occasion, pair it with a gorgeous fukuro obi sash made with gold and silver threads.

If you want to wear it as a casual outfit, you can also pair it with a Nagoya obi or a half-width obi with a accent pattern.

There are no stains or dirt, so it can be fully reused.

The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.

Please note that there is no quality label, so we do not know the content percentage, etc.
