Characteristics and condition of Tsumugi | Used and recycled kimonos
This is a stylish tsumugi kimono by artist Urano Riichi.
Urano Riichi is a Japanese dyeing and weaving researcher and producer.
He collected and studied tens of thousands of dyed textiles from the Asuka period to the end of the Edo period, and reflected this in his artwork and writings.
The kimono has a light navy blue background with white and blue-green floral patterns dyed on it, giving it a very clean and cool impression.
It is easy to match with an obi; if you pair it with a pale obi in a white or cream color, it will give a clean and soft impression, and if you pair it with a dark obi, it will look stylish. You can also have fun with accent colors such as the obi-jime and obi-dome.
You can enjoy a wide range of obi including half-width obi, Nagoya obi, and fukuro obi.
