Characteristics and condition of Tsumugi | Used and recycled kimonos
This product is made of Kurume Kasuri fabric, recommended for casual occasions.
Kurume Kasuri is a traditional cotton yarn-dyed fabric that has been passed down in the Chikugo region of Fukuoka Prefecture for about 200 years.
The unique "faintness" that occurs when indigo-dyed threads are tied together and woven, as well as the durability and pleasant texture, are what make this fabric so appealing.
It was designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan in 1957.
This stylish piece features a pattern woven into a dark blue base that is almost black.
You can match it with any obi, whether light or dark.
You can enjoy a wide range of obi including half-width obi, Nagoya obi and Fukuro obi.
The lining and shoulder pads have yellowed and there is a stain on the left collar, but it can still be enjoyed as a reused item.
The colors are closest to the patterns and close-up photos of the patterns, but they may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
