Features and Condition of the Yukata | New Kimono
This Arimatsu Shibori yukata is perfect for festivals and summer tourist spots.
"Arimatsu Narumi Shibori" has been produced in the Arimatsu-Narumi region of Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, since the Edo period.
Shibori dyeing can express a wide variety of patterns depending on how the fabric is tied, sewn, or pleated.
There are said to be over 100 types of "tying" techniques, and about 70 types are still passed down as traditional skills today.
This diverse pattern expression is one of the charms of Arimatsu Shibori.
This yukata is a neat piece featuring kanoko shibori (fawn spot dyeing) on a deep matcha green thread. With two patterns for the center of the kanoko shibori – one purple and one green – it also creates an atmosphere like a purple-to-green gradation.
How about a moss green or yellow heko obi to go with this yukata?
A sharp, coordinated look with a deep colored obi, such as a rich purple or navy, would also be lovely.
Another charm of shibori yukata is that it can be worn as a daytime kimono by pairing it with a nagajuban (under-kimono) and tabi (socks).
During the hot summer months, please wear it with items that help you stay cool, such as a usotsuki juban (fake juban) or lace tabi.
As this is a new product, it is in excellent condition.
