Features and Condition of the Yukata | New Kimono
This Arimatsu Shibori yukata is perfect for festivals and summer tourist spots.
"Arimatsu Narumi Shibori" has been produced in the Arimatsu-Narumi district of Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, since the Edo period.
Shibori dyeing can express a wide variety of patterns depending on how the fabric is tied, sewn, or pleated.
It is said that there are over 100 types of "tying" techniques, and about 70 of them are still passed down as traditional skills.
This diverse pattern expression is one of the charms of Arimatsu Shibori.
This yukata has a clean pattern, with a tatewaku-like design tie-dyed onto a pale indigo background with varying shades.
The vertical lines are beautiful and seem to have a slimming effect.
It can create a gentle atmosphere when paired with a pale pastel obi, or a chic atmosphere with a navy or black obi and decorative cord, changing its expression completely depending on the obi you choose.
Another charm of shibori yukata is that it can be worn as a daytime kimono by adding a nagajuban (under-kimono) and tabi (split-toe socks).
During the hot summer months, please wear it with items that help you stay cool, such as an usotsuki-juban (under-kimono with detachable collar) or lace tabi.
This item is new, so it is in excellent condition.
