This roll of Hama Chirimen Kyoto Bingata Komon fabric has a simple ivy pattern that gives it a mature impression, and is made from 100% silk.
The background color is a dull blue-gray (light blue-gray) (see the definitive Japanese color dictionary).
The design features colorful ivy leaves in dull pink, navy blue, and beige on top of a white silhouette.
The ivy silhouette creates a clean vertical line.
This attractive color scheme is unique to items made by Kuriyama Kobo, a long-established Kyoto Bingata manufacturer.
The fabric is Hama Chirimen.
The weft threads are tightly twisted to raise them between the warp threads, creating a embossed texture that gives the fabric a beautiful luster and a smooth feel.
This is a lovely item, brand new, but also AB grade.
This item was rejected during manufacturer inspection.
Naturally, manufacturers have very strict standards when it comes to inspections. There are many products that you would not notice have a problem unless you were to look at them with a professional eye.
