This Nagoya obi fabric features Hama Chirimen and Kyo Bingata dyeing with a very clean and cool color scheme, and is made from 100% silk.
The background color is a deep, sophisticated blue (Karaaiiro) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary).
The net drying cloth and large waves are dyed in a slightly dull white color.
This pattern is all over the dress, with a touch of black added to the waves only on the drum and front belly areas, which are the focal points.
It has a few colors and a cool impression, which makes it very nice.
This attractive color scheme is unique to items made by Kuriyama Kobo, a long-established Kyoto Bingata manufacturer.
The fabric is Hama Chirimen.
The weft threads are tightly twisted to raise them between the warp threads, creating a embossed texture that gives the fabric a beautiful luster and a smooth feel.
This is a lovely item, brand new, but also AB grade.
This item was rejected during manufacturer inspection.
