This Nagoya obi fabric is made of 100% silk and can be worn from single layer to summer seasons.
There are so many things I would like to introduce about this bolt of cloth.
The background color is a dull blue-gray and an orange-white (earth color) (see the definitive Japanese color dictionary).
The accent pattern is a checkered pattern, waves and arabesque designs.
The navy blue vines and the blue and yellow-green leaves create a very stylish pattern.
This attractive color scheme is unique to items made by Kuriyama Kobo, a long-established Kyoto Bingata manufacturer.
Furthermore, the fabric is authentic Striped Oshima.
The thread used is called "wall thread", which is a tightly twisted thread that is wrapped around a flat thread.
By weaving this in, a unique crisp texture and willowy feel are created.
This very attractive item is brand new, but it is also AB grade.
This item was rejected during manufacturer inspection.
Naturally, manufacturers have very strict standards when it comes to inspections. There are many products that you would not notice have a problem unless you were to look at them with a professional eye.
This roll of cloth had a warning that said it might fade.
The part that goes behind the tip of the drip is discolored.
Although this is not a problem once the garment is tailored, please keep this in mind before purchasing.
