Features and Condition of Obijime (Kimono Sash Cord) | Used & Recycled Obijime
This is a Kumihimo obijime in the "Yurugi-gumi" style, suitable for semi-formal obi.
It is woven in a single bright, vivid yellow color (ocher) (*refer to the Definitive Dictionary of Japanese Colors).
The "Kanmuri-gumi" style obijime is also read as "Yurugi-gumi."
It is one of the obijime that we recommend beginners acquire first, especially if they are unsure of where to start building their collection.
While often plain and single-colored, with a very simple appearance, its comfortable fit is sure to make it indispensable once tried.
It ties tightly and doesn't loosen. Yet, it's very easy to untie.
Obijime come in a wide variety of types, weaving methods, and designs, but we highly recommend owning at least one Yurugi-gumi obijime.
The Yurugi-gumi style offers great versatility in coordination; as long as it doesn't contain gold or silver threads, it can be worn with Houmongi, Tsukesage, Iromuji, as well as Komon and Tsumugi kimonos.
There are no stains or dirt, and it is in perfectly wearable condition.
