Features and Condition of the Han-haba Obi | Second-hand/Recycled Han-haba Obi
This is a han-haba (half-width) obi recommended for casual outfits during the seasons for awase (lined) and hitoe (unlined) kimonos.
It features a bright yet understated yellowish-green hue (karekusa-iro/withered grass color) (*refer to the Standard Dictionary of Japanese Colors) with an intricate shibori (tie-dye) pattern throughout.
Although it is made using only a single yellowish-green color, the contrast between the heavily shibori-dyed areas and the areas showing more of the base fabric creates a sense of depth, allowing for a three-dimensional look when worn.
While it is a reversible obi, both sides are made of the exact same fabric.
The pattern distribution differs only slightly between the two sides.
It has a very thin, soft, and supple texture.
Possibly crafted using kimono fabric, there are three sections where fabric has been joined throughout its length.
These are not particularly noticeable, but please check the photos before purchasing.
Other than that, it is in overall good condition with no apparent stains or dirt, and can be fully enjoyed as a recycled item.
