Features and Condition of the Han-haba Obi | Pre-owned/Recycled Han-haba Obi
This is a thin, soft polyester han-haba (half-width) obi—the quintessential yukata sash.
The base is a vivid, bright red (carmine red) (*referencing the standard Dictionary of Japanese Colors), flanked on both sides by solid black borders.
The contrast between the red and black is very striking, and the red section is decorated with a broken hemp leaf (asanoha kuzushi) pattern in a deep yellow (sunflower yellow) (*referencing the standard Dictionary of Japanese Colors).
The reverse side features a red broken hemp leaf pattern on a yellow base, framed by red lines.
The removal of the black color gives the reverse side a significantly different impression.
It is a single-layer obi rather than a hollow, double-sided pouch construction, and it can be enjoyed as a reversible piece.
Since the material is polyester, you can wear it to summer festivals or casual meals without worrying too much about it getting dirty.
