This Nishijin-ori half-width obi is perfect for casual outfits.
Black cats are playing happily on a light gray (kumoinezuiro) background (see the definitive Japanese color dictionary). Their expressions are very expressive and they have a very cute presence.
Gold thread is used on the cat's ribbon, the pattern on its back, and the toy, adding a subtle touch of elegance.
The other side has a grey and black zebra print. The majority of the grey gives it a bright impression.
It seems to go well with plain kimonos.
The pattern runs all the way through on both sides.
The material is 95% silk, 5% polyester and unclassified fiber (washi paper).
It comes in a box, so it makes a great gift.
It does not appear to have a core and has a very soft feel, so it may not be suitable for those who prefer a crisp obi look like a Hakata obi.
