Characteristics and condition of Fukuro Obi | Used and recycled Fukuro Obi
This product is a bag-shaped obi made by Asayama Orimono, recommended for formal occasions.
An elegant plum pattern is woven onto a white background.
Asayama Textiles was founded in the late Meiji period.
When the use of Hikihaku fabric began to decline in the industry, we focused on developing new products and, after much effort, obtained a manufacturing process patent for "pearl foil."
A few years later, we gradually obtained trademark registrations for "pearl foil" and "pearl gold thread."
We are particular about the foil, raw silk, and dyeing, and we commissioned the first person in Japan to successfully dye cherry blossoms.
We travel to the birthplace of washi paper to have the washi paper made for our obi, and we create rare, authentic obi.
This obi is woven using pearls, real gold leaf and the hikihaku technique.
A luxurious obi that is slightly heavy and soft to the touch.
Please enjoy coordinating it with Tomesode, Homongi, Tsukesage, and Iromuji.
There are no visible stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.
The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
