Nagoya Obi Features and Condition | Used and Recycled Nagoya Obi
This is a Nagoya obi made of sha (gauze-like fabric), perfect for casual occasions.
It features a beautiful gradation of soft brown colors, centered around a warm, slightly orange-toned brown (''boke-iro,'' as referenced in ''Teihon Wa no Iro Jiten'' [Standard Japanese Color Dictionary]).
The pattern, placed at key points, is a stylish geometric design with colorful horizontal lines.
Although many colors are used, the subdued palette makes it easy to coordinate.
The sheer quality is also very beautiful and gives a refreshing feel.
Please coordinate it with iromuji (solid-colored kimono), komon (kimono with small repeated patterns), tsumugi (pongee silk kimono), etc.
This obi is tailored in the matsuba style, making it very thin and surprisingly light.
There are wearing creases from folding the obi in half from the te-saki (hand-end) to the front belly area, and creases on the lining of the te-saki, but otherwise, there are no noticeable stains or dirt, making it perfectly usable as a recycled item.
The colors are most accurately represented in the overall photograph, but may vary slightly depending on your device.
