Features and condition of Nagoya Obi | Used/Recycled Nagoya Obi
A ro-weave Nagoya obi recommended for casual wear.
The main color is a bright salmon pink (slightly lighter than Choshun-iro) (Refer to Teihon Wa no Iro Jiten).
This obi is sleek, made with a single color, and features stylish, gently curving wavy lines.
As it doesn't have an obi core, its sheerness also gives a very cool impression.
When you hold this item, you might notice a few interesting points.
First, the tesaki (front end) part. It has a fringe-like finish.
You can wear it as is, with the fringe visible.
If the obi length is too long, you can also take a longer tesaki and fold in the fringe part.
Second, the otaiko (back knot) part. Both sides are not sewn together.
This is called a "tunnel仕立て (tunnel tailoring)," which allows air to escape easily, making it cooler to wear.
Also, this obi seems to be finished in a way that makes it hard to distinguish the front from the back.
The part corresponding to the otaiko has wavy lines on one side and simple horizontal stripes on the other.
While the pattern on the belly part cannot be changed, I feel that the otaiko part can be enjoyed as reversible.
It is an open-ended tailoring, allowing you to adjust the width to your height.
At over 370 cm, it is long for a Nagoya obi, but since it's not a focal-point pattern, it can be worn regardless of your height.
Please coordinate it with iromuji (solid-color kimonos), komon (small-pattern kimonos), Tsumugi, etc.
There is a stain on the back of the tesaki, but it is still enjoyable enough as a recycled item.
