Features and Condition of Nagoya Obi | Used and Recycled Nagoya Obi
This Nagoya obi is recommended for semi-formal coordinates.
The deep, subdued navy blue (karaai-iro) (※Refer to Teihon Wa no Iro Jiten) ground features a ground pattern centered on sayagata (swastika) pattern.
The focal point pattern is a floral motif.
It is a luxurious pattern packed with techniques such as kinko-mashi-shishu (gold couching embroidery), gin-komashi-shishu (silver couching embroidery), and shibori (tie-dyeing).
For the front part, one side features half of the same pattern as the taiko (drum) knot. The other side is plain, making it fun to experiment with obijime (obi cord) and obidome (obi clip).
It is finished in the Nagoya style, with a moderate crispness yet a supple feel.
Please coordinate it with iromuji (solid-colored kimono), komon (small-patterned kimono), tsumugi (pongee silk kimono), or light tsukesage (kimono with small patterns at the hem and sleeves).
Overall, the item is in good condition, with no noticeable stains or dirt, making it perfectly wearable as a recycled item.
