This Nagoya obi made of Shoba fabric is recommended for casual occasions.
Small flowers and a flower-eating bird-like design are woven into the brown (shrimp brown) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) background.
The name Shobaori is said to come from the cloth that was used by Satomura Shoba, a disciple of Sen no Rikyu. The warp and weft are woven with silk threads only, giving the fabric a moist texture, and it is wrinkle-resistant because no gold or silver threads are used.
The pattern runs all the way through and is made in a pine style.
The width can be adjusted slightly to suit your height, and since it is made to be longer than usual for a Nagoya obi, you can also enjoy tying it in decorative knots.
Please enjoy coordinating it with kimonos such as plain-colored, small patterns, tsumugi, and omeshi.
There are no stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.
