This is a fukuro obi made by Kusano Ikki, a kimono artist and designer active on the world stage.
Ikki Kusano, who produces a wide range of products such as kimonos, woven obi, bags, and sandals, is not only active in Japan, but has also held solo exhibitions and shows throughout the United States and Europe.
His style, known as Ikki-cho, is extremely beautiful and has a unique worldview.
This fukuro obi has a large lily flower woven on a jet black background. The deep bluish green color is perfect for modern coordination.
The lining, which is the same color as the lily flowers, is woven with the trademark rose.
This is a stylish and versatile obi that can be worn not only with formal kimonos such as furisode, houmongi, and tsukesage iro-muji, but also with komon kimonos.
It has a soft and supple feel and is 440cm long, making it highly recommended for tying decorative knots on furisode kimonos.
