Characteristics and condition of Fukuro Obi | Used and recycled Fukuro Obi
This is a genuine Saga Nishiki bag by Takeichiro Okano.
The colored paper is woven with designs of one-wheeled carts, bush clover, and floral arabesques, and has a beautiful luster.
Saga Nishiki is characterized by its overall weight and beautiful shine. It is a hand-woven Nishiki fabric woven with thin strips of specially made washi paper pasted with gold, silver, and lacquer as the warp threads and dyed silk threads as the weft threads, and features geometric and pictorial patterns.
A honbukuro is an obi that is woven into a single tube with the outer and inner linings integrated together. Unlike obi that are sewn together to form a bag, this is woven inside out in a tube shape, so even the weaver cannot see the pattern until it is finished.
This obi has a six-way pattern. Please wear it at formal occasions with a black or colored tomesode, a formal kimono, a formal kimono, a formal kimono with a tsukesage, or a plain-colored kimono.
There are no noticeable stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.
