Features and Condition of the Han-haba Obi | Pre-owned/Recycled Han-haba Obi
This polyester han-haba (half-width) obi is recommended for casual outfits during the unlined (hitoe) and lined (awase) kimono seasons.
The base is a dark gray color (guzumi-iro) (※Referenced from The Standard Dictionary of Japanese Colors), featuring a gourd pattern.
The gourds are also woven primarily in light gray tones, with motifs centered around flowers designed within them.
The reverse side features a plover (chidori) pattern on a deep, dark reddish-purple (akamurasaki-iro) background (※Referenced from The Standard Dictionary of Japanese Colors).
The plovers are woven in a color close to the base, giving it the appearance of a solid color at a quick glance.
When styled with a decorative knot, glimpses of this side add a lovely, refined touch to the overall look.
Alternatively, you could make this side the main focus and have fun with an obidome (obi accessory).
Please enjoy pairing it with iromuji, komon, or tsumugi kimonos.
There are faint crease marks on the plover side near the end of the obi (tesaki) where it was previously folded.
Other than that, the item is in overall good condition with no noticeable stains or dirt, and can certainly be enjoyed as a recycled piece.
