Features and Condition of the Fukuro Obi
This is a fukuro obi featuring a classical pattern on a fan-shaped motif, woven in the kara-ori style on a bright white-toned (pearl-colored) background (*refer to the Standard Dictionary of Japanese Colors).
The fan motif is a gorgeous vermilion-toned design that contrasts with the soft background color. The ribs of the fan are in three colors: purple, vermilion, and yellow.
The fan is divided into sections of the background color by mist and cloud patterns, with flowers on a silver background and auspicious patterns on a vermilion background. Shippo-tsunagi and kikkou-tsunagi patterns are also incorporated.
Please wear it with tomesode, houmongi, tsukesage, iromuji, and other styles for occasions ranging from weddings to entrance and graduation ceremonies, parties, and theater performances.
On both sides, there are wear marks from folding the obi in half from the sleeve end to the front section, and the plain middle sections show creases from wearing. There are also some frayed areas at the ends of the hanging sections.
No noticeable stains or dirt were found, so it is in good enough condition to be used as a pre-owned item, but please also check the product images to assess its condition.
