Features and Condition of the Fukuro Obi | Pre-owned & Recycled Fukuro Obi
This is a Saga Nishiki obi by Takeichiro Okano, recommended for formal occasions.
The fabric features a Saya-gata (interlocking fret) ground pattern woven with Keicho-style motifs, creating a gorgeous shimmer that catches the eye.
The hallmarks of Saga Nishiki are the profound sense of weight and beautiful luster throughout the obi fabric.
It is a hand-woven Nishiki textile, created by weaving geometric or pictorial patterns using warp threads made from specially crafted washi paper coated in gold, silver, or lacquer and cut into thin strips, and weft threads made from dyed silk.
The pattern on this obi is a "rokutsu" (two-thirds pattern) design.
Please enjoy wearing it to formal events, pairing it with furisode, homongi, tsukesage, or iromuji kimonos.
There are some creases from wear on the inner plain section through to the front, but otherwise, there are no notable stains or dirt, and it can be fully enjoyed as a recycled item.
Please note that there is no quality label, so the exact composition is unknown.
