This product is a bag-shaped obi made by Shiraayaen Oba and recommended for formal occasions.
An elegant obi with a grey (fish belly white) base (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) and patterns of chrysanthemums, bellflowers, bamboo, etc. woven into it.
The phoenix mark (bird mark) on the inside of the end of the strap is a registered trademark that Shirayaen Ohba has used since its founding, and was created with the phoenix motif.
Obata's work is characterized by bold designs and color schemes that catch the viewer's eye.
They continue to produce unique designs, and make obi for a variety of occasions, from the more casual tea ceremony kimono to tsumugi, plain-colored kimono, formal kimono, tomesode, and furisode.
The mysterious charm of this obi is that it coordinates really well with a furisode.
In addition, it can be coordinated with other kimonos such as Homongi, Tsukesage, Iromuji, and Komon.
There are loose threads on the surface and many loose threads on the back of the fabric, but no stains or dirt, so it is still in good condition for reuse. Please check the photo before purchasing.
