This product is a bag-shaped obi made by Shiraayaen Oba and recommended for formal occasions.
A brown (soot-colored) obi (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) with a soft feel, featuring ivy, bamboo, and grape patterns woven into the base.
This is a very auspicious pattern that signifies growth and prosperity of descendants.
The phoenix mark (bird mark) on the back of the tip of the strap is a registered trademark that Shirayaen Ohba has used since its founding, and was created with the phoenix as a motif.
Obata's work is characterized by bold designs and color schemes that catch the viewer's eye.
They continue to produce unique designs, and make obi for a variety of occasions, from the more casual tea ceremony kimono to tsumugi, plain-colored kimono, formal kimono, tomesode, and furisode.
The mysterious charm of this obi is that it coordinates really well with a furisode.
In addition, it can be coordinated with other kimonos such as Homongi, Tsukesage, Iromuji, and Komon.
There are no visible stains or dirt, and the item is in perfect condition for reuse.
