Characteristics and condition of Fukuro Obi | Used and recycled Fukuro Obi
This product is a fukuro obi recommended for formal kimono.
This obi has an elegant feel with a calm gold color emerging from behind a black base color, and the pointed pattern is made using the kiri-inlay technique.
Kiri-iname is a technique in which a piece of fabric is cut out and another piece of fabric is inserted in its place.
This obi is mainly made of mother-of-pearl fabric, but also Oshima Tsumugi fabric is used.
Mother-of-pearl is a symbol of wishing for the prosperity of descendants. Shells are also said to protect wealth, as they were used for currency.
Please wear this obi with kimonos such as black tomesode, colored tomesode, houmongi, tsukesage, and plain-colored kimonos.
There is an Oshima Tsumugi certificate on the inside of the end of the garment.
There are some creases from wear on the tip of the obi, but other than that there are no visible stains or dirt, so it is still in good condition to be worn as a reused item.
The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
