This is a obi with pull foil and mother-of-pearl design that can be worn for formal occasions.
The hikihaku technique involves painting Japanese paper with lacquer or other colors, cutting the patterned paper into thin strips as thin as a hair, and weaving them into the weft.
The pattern features flowers and birds, with mother-of-pearl woven into the fabric in key areas, giving the obi a simple yet elegant look.
In addition, the mother-of-pearl on this obi is woven into the fabric rather than pasted onto it, so it will not crack or peel off, making it extremely easy to handle.
Please wear it with kimonos such as plain-colored kimonos, tsukesage kimonos, homongi kimonos, and tomesode kimonos.
There are no stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.
