This Nagoya obi made of Shoba weave is recommended for casual occasions.
This obi has a soft feel, with the Shosoin pattern woven into it on a brown (azuki brown) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) background.
The inclusion of some brighter colors gives it a calm yet light feel.
Please wear it with plain colors, small patterns, or tsumugi.
The name Shohaori is said to come from the cloth that was favored by Satomura Shoha, a disciple of Sen no Rikyu.
The warp and weft are woven using only silk threads, giving the fabric a moist texture, and since no gold or silver threads are used, it is less likely to wrinkle.
This is an open Nagoya obi.
It is less likely to get creases when folded.
