Nagoya Obi Features and Conditions | Second-hand and Recycled Nagoya Obi
This Nagoya obi, made by Kuriyama Kobo, is recommended for casual occasions.
The pine, bamboo, and plum pattern is dyed on a green (lizard-colored) background (see the Definitive Japanese Color Encyclopedia).
This obi has a cute contrast between the deep base color and the bright accent colors.
Please coordinate it with a plain-colored, small pattern, or tsumugi kimono.
Kuriyama Koubou was established in 1952. The founder, Kuriyama Kichisaburo, was fascinated by Okinawa's traditional stencil dyeing technique, "Bingata," and started a dyeing studio called "Wasome Bingata" by fusing Bingata with "Kyoto Yuzen," a dyeing technique representative of Kyoto.
The works of Kuriyama Studio are called "Kuriyama Bingata."
Although it is a point pattern, the long patterned portion may also be one of the characteristics of Kuriyama Kobo.
It is slightly longer than other Nagoya obi.
In addition, since it is made with a pine-needle style, it can be slightly adjusted in width to suit your height.
There are no visible stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.
The colour is closest to the overall photo, but may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
