Features and Condition of the Nagoya Obi
This is a casual Nagoya obi featuring a daffodil pattern on a sophisticated pale yellow base (Gyoshi-ko yellow) (ref. "Standard Japanese Color Dictionary").
It is an artist-signed piece, with the signature found on the tail end (a position hidden when tied).
It features a large daffodil pattern on chirimen crepe fabric. The design is laid out so that the daffodil flowers lie horizontally on the front section.
Suitable for plain colored kimonos or komon.
The daffodil pattern against the clean, solid-colored base gives it a painterly atmosphere. It might be easier to coordinate with kimonos that also feature a subtle pattern.
Although it is a longer obi, the area with the pattern is not very wide, so please check the dimensions carefully before purchasing.
There are many wrinkles overall. There are also some dye splatters on the front section, and some may find the creases at the leading end and the tail end noticeable.
While it can be enjoyed thoroughly as a recycled item, please refer to the product images as well to check its condition.
The overall color is closest to the full-view photographs, but please note that it may appear differently depending on your device or viewing environment.
