Nagoya Obi Characteristics and Condition | Used and Recycled Nagoya Obi
This Nagoya obi made of pongee is recommended for the summer and can be used for semi-formal occasions.
The background is a pale gray (Rikyu mouse color) (see the definitive Japanese color dictionary), and the bamboo vase is decorated with a floral pattern, giving it an elegant atmosphere.
This obi is made with scoop weave.
This obi is easy to use, with just the right amount of firmness but not too heavy.
It is made with pine needles and the pattern is the highlight.
It is a rare Nagoya obi with a "hiyoku" style.
Hiyoku style (double drum hiyoku style) is a style in which only the ends of the drum part are doubled, so that when the Nagoya obi is tied, the drum part looks like the double drum part of the fukuro obi.
Please wear it with summer kimonos such as visiting kimono, tsukesage, and iro-muji.
There are creases from wear on the front and back from the fingertips to the drum, but there are no stains or dirt, so it is fully wearable and can be reused.
