Nagoya Obi Features and Conditions | Second-hand and Recycled Nagoya Obi

This embroidered Nagoya obi is recommended for casual occasions.

A cute, round fish is embroidered on a beige (straw-colored) background (see the Definitive Japanese Color Encyclopedia).

Please wear it with plain colors, small patterns, or tsumugi.

The two embroidery styles used are Sagara embroidery and Shantou embroidery.

Sagara embroidery, which depicts fish and water plants, is also called "Tamanui" and its three-dimensional effect is its greatest appeal. It is possible to create such detailed embroidery that it is difficult to tell it is embroidery when viewed from a distance.

The Shantou embroidery in the background of the fish is also called "silk carving." If you look closely, you will see many holes in the fabric that look like patterns. It is a very labor-intensive embroidery technique in which holes are manually made in plain fabric and patterns are embroidered on it.

It is made in Nagoya style and is a light, soft obi.

There is a red stain on the surface of the sauce, but it is still in good enough condition to be reused.

Please check the photo before purchasing.

The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
