Nagoya Obi Features and Conditions | Second-hand and Recycled Nagoya Obi
This Nagoya obi is recommended for casual occasions.
The brown (magnolia color) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) background has many horizontal stripes woven into it, giving it a stylish impression.
This fabric is called Shaoba weave.
It is said that the name comes from the cloth that was used by Satomura Shoha, a disciple of Sen no Rikyu. The warp and weft are woven with silk threads only, giving the fabric a moist texture, and it is wrinkle-resistant because no gold or silver threads are used.
Enjoy coordinating it with solid colors, small patterns, tsumugi, and omeshi.
The pattern runs all the way through the obi, and it is made in Nagoya style. It is longer than most Nagoya obi, so you can enjoy tying it in a slightly different way.
There is little sign of wear, and no stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.
The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
