Characteristics and condition of Fukuro Obi | Used and recycled Fukuro Obi
This product is a summer obi recommended for semi-formal wear.
This obi has a calm atmosphere with a cream-colored (Torinoko color) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) background and a Chayatsuji pattern as a highlight design.
The fabric in question is Shozan Nama Tsumugi, which has many fans.
Although it is made of silk, raw tsumugi has a rough texture that is different from silk. The threads made from irregularly shaped cocoons produced by two or more silkworms are often tangled, which creates unique knots.
In addition, during the thread refining process, the sticky protein called sericin is normally removed, but a small amount is deliberately left in, creating a unique texture.
Please wear it with a variety of items, from light formal kimono to tsukesage, plain-colored kimono, and simple komon.
There are no visible stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.
The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
