Characteristics and condition of Fukuro Obi | Used and recycled Fukuro Obi

This product is a Tatenishiki bag-shaped obi, recommended for semi-formal wear.

It is reversible; one side has an Ikat floral pattern woven on a green (decaying leaf color) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary), and the other side has a bamboo pattern woven on a beige (grayish white color) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary).

Speaking of tsutsugi, it slides well vertically and barely moves horizontally. In other words, it is easy to tighten the obi and it is hard to come undone once tied. It is one of the most useful obi for kimono lovers.

This obi was made by Weaving Studio Kanae, a manufacturer in Nishijin, Kyoto that mainly produces obi using warp brocade.

At Kanae, we believe that the quality of the thread determines the quality of the product, and for the warp threads we use 100% A5 rank Brataku thread, which is said to be the world's finest silk thread.

One of the characteristics of Keishinki is that its beautiful patterns and colors appear not only on the front but also on the back.

In addition, since there are no threads on the back, the fabric is smooth, allowing you to enjoy the natural texture and luster of silk.

Since it does not use decorative weft threads (weft threads that create patterns), it is light, and because it is a warp weave, it is easy to tighten and does not wrinkle easily.

This type of calm and elegant Tate Nishiki can be enjoyed in a variety of outfits that easily blend into modern life, from traditional tea ceremonies to modern kimono settings.

Please wear it with a wide range of kimonos, such as stylish Homongi, Tsukesage, Iromuji, Komon, and Tsumugi.

There are no visible stains or dirt, so it is perfectly wearable and can be reused.

The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.

Please note that there is no quality label, so we cannot tell you the content percentage, etc.
