What is summer kimono?

Summer kimonos are unlined, single-layered kimonos made from highly breathable materials.
It is usually worn in the height of summer from July to August, but due to changes in the climate, it is becoming more common to wear it from June to September in recent years.

Types and materials of summer kimono

Ro: A material with gaps in the weave that allows for good ventilation. Recommended for formal wear.
Sha: More transparent than ro, giving a light impression. Suitable for casual wear.
