Black formal kimono

First formal attire for married people

Kurotomesode is the most formal kimono of all. It has a black base, short sleeves, and an eba pattern on the hem. It is also called Edo-tsuma because it was popular during the Edo period. It has a crest on the back, chest, and sleeves, and is worn by the head of the family.
