This reversible half-width obi is recommended for casual coordination with komon, tsumugi, and plain-colored kimonos.
Both motifs are cats.
One side is a light brown (burnt color) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) background with many cat paws lined up.
The other side is black (steel color) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Dictionary) with bells and the silhouettes of many cats woven into it.
I think you've already noticed it in the photo.
The animal faces on the edges of this half-width obi are filled with cotton.
An obi with an animal pattern like this is very rare.
For both sides, we recommend tying the sash using a method called the "ayame musubi" or "hanaakari musubi" (we have also included photos of examples of how to tie the sash), which allows your face to peek out from the side.
The obi fabric is made of 100% silk.
The length of the obi is measured up to the point where the cotton is inserted, so it is actually a little longer.
The colour is closest to what you see in the overall photo, but it may vary slightly depending on the device you are using.
