This product is a bag-shaped obi made by Asahimine and recommended for formal occasions.
The gradation background has a very chic color scheme that shines iridescently when viewed from different angles. The hikihaku technique was used.
Hikihaku is a technique in which gold and silver foil is layered onto washi paper that has been coated with lacquer to create a pattern.
This requires advanced techniques, as the fibers are cut into hair-thin strips and then woven into fabric while being pulled, making it one of the most difficult Nishijin-ori fabrics to weave.
Some parts of the float pattern on the drum part and the flower pattern on the belly part are decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay.
This is a meticulous process that involves attaching slabs of material cut from the iridescent mother-of-pearl layer inside the shell.

This obi has a smooth texture that feels very comfortable to the touch.
There are creases from wear from the hands to the waist.
There are some large stains on the back of the kimono, but it is still in good condition as a reused item. Please check the photo before purchasing.
