This is a dragonfly bead obidome.
Dragonfly ball means a glass ball with a hole and colorful patterns.
It was a supreme treasure with a mysterious glow, used as an ornament for nobles and as a talisman to ward off evil.
In Japan, in the mid-Edo period, artisans who were fascinated by Dutch jade created beautiful beads with great skill and refinement, and these beads became widely known as "tombodama."
On a background of bluish gray (guzumi-iro) (see the Definitive Japanese Color Encyclopedia), spiral patterns and small flowers are drawn in yellow.
The glass beads are transparent, so the atmosphere will change slightly depending on the color of the obi-jime you use.
It's small, so even petite customers can easily use it.
This is a casual obi fastener, suitable for threading a sanbun-himo cord through.
Sanbun-himo is a special obi fastener used to attach an obi fastener.
It is thinner and finer than a normal obijime, and is also shorter in length.
Also, since there are no tassels on the ends, they do not get in the way when threading the obi-jime.
The combination of sanbun-himo and obi-dome is very convenient as it can be matched not only with kimono but also with yukata.
